Frequently Asked Questions
I get lots of emails with a lot of the same questions, so I thought I’d set this space up to help answer some common questions!
What should I expect? The Black Book Boudoir session includes approx 2 hours of shooting and as many outfit changes as you can/want to squeeze in. Depending on the location you choose to do your session, there may be props and furniture available. You can expect me to honor your privacy and to give you honest feedback about what looks good and what doesn’t. This is your day to feel like a star and I will do everything in my power to make sure that gets accomplished!
Are you the only one present? Yes, I am the only photographer present, some ladies choose to bring a girlfriend with them to help with hair, outfits and to be a cheerleader, that is perfectly fine with me, whatever makes you comfortable!
What do people typically wear or… not wear? The number one thing I stress to all my clients is to wear what makes you comfortable and sexy. Most ladies wear matching bra and panties sets, corsets, baby dolls. costumes (think french maid). I always suggest various props or things that might have an inside meaning to you and the lucky recipient, does he golf? how about a golf club, is he in the military? Sneak away part of his uniform. A crisp white button down shirt always makes for a great sexy shot. It is up to you entirely with regards to how much or how little you want to wear.
What about makeup and hair? Because I feel this is such an important of your session and achieving the best out of your session, hair and makeup is included in your session. I have some amazing stylists ready to work with you!!
Do you do nudes? Not full nudes, nothing ‘below the belt’. These requests are very rare for me as they’re typically not my style and not represented in my portfolio. If you’re interested in shooting nudes please send me an email and we can discus your options!
What’s up with location. Are they done at home? Is a studio available? Yes and yes! I can either come to your home or you can come to the private, local studio, or some clients in the past have booked a local hotel room. It’s completely up to you.
How will I see my pictures, will other people see my pictures? Once edited, I will contact you and we will set up an appointment for a private viewing in the studio. This is where you’ll relax, have a glass of wine, view your images and order your collection. Typically these appointments last about an hour but you’re welcome to stay as long as you need to make your decisions.
What about the pictures going up on your blog? While I maintain the copyright to all my images and the right to use the images for promotional use, I will NEVER use your images on my blog, or anywhere for that matter, without your permission. All of the girls on my blog have given me permission to post their images.
