A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Ms. L. She was part of a marathon day that we did! It was a blast. If you have a bachelorette party coming up you should consider this. It’s always a good idea to bring a girl friend with you to your boudoir photography session, so having 4 of your girl friends around makes it a lot of fun. We made a day of it and shot at a local hotel and back at the studio, and had lots of wine and snacks!

I get a lot of emails from clients asking for shopping and outfit suggestions for those that are self conscious about different aspects of their bodies. I’d like to put this all in one easily accessible spot and offer some online retailers that I, or clients, have worked with and had great results!
For women who are more self-conscious about their stomach area, and want to reveal it as little as possible, corsets are a great option. There’s everything out there, from the kind with very rigid boning, to more relaxed bustiers.
Babydolls are another option for hiding that midsection and being just a bit for forgiving and non-shape revealing as corsets. There are many different kinds to choose from. Some have a slit up the middle to show a peek of tummy and some are sheer. Some have garter straps at the bottom. They can be short or long or any length in between!
One of my favorite sites for fun and affordable lingerie is Yandy.com. They care both smaller and larger sizes and are priced low enough that you can stock up on lots of outfits for your shoot and to have in the bedroom! The quality isn’t boutique or designer, but for the amount of wear you’ll get (which let’s face it, it’s not like these outfits stay on for that long anyway!) is perfect.

Don’t forget stockings and accessories! Yandy.com carries just about every style of stocking and hose in almost every color for almost every size. Doing simple things with your hair such as big fancy fascinators or bows make a huge difference. Also gloves, shoes, tiaras, masks etc give your session and pictures such personality. A website which carries all the above accessories and more is Trashy.com, this website has stuff you didn’t even know they made! There is also an excellent shoe section. If you only bring one pair of shoes to your session, make it a wonderfully classic pair of black pumps. So much can be done with them!
Most of all bring things that reflect you and your relationship. These pictures are about being beautiful, confident and sexy.

Ms. K was just a blast to work with! She contacted me about doing a boudoir session for her (lucky) man and just gushed about how her boyfriend made her feel the best about herself that she ever has, and she wanted to do something to tell him thanks.
She mentioned that she’d contacted me, not only because she liked my work, but she was even happier that I was a female photographer and could tell that I knew how to work with ‘real women’ and pose them in a flattering way. Well, I was blushing by the end of our phone call. I tell you, making women see how beautiful they are is my main motivation for this job, I just can’t convey how happy I am when I make others see it.
So anyway, here’s Ms. K!
